Antojos—Spanish for “craving”—is a paladar located in Old Havana.  Paladares started as family-owned restaurants that were first allowed to operate in the early- to mid-nineties, during the so-called “special period,” the severe economic crisis that followed the collapse of the Soviet Union.  And on our first full day in Cuba, we stopped by Antojos to have lunch.

It turned out that the Cuba Workshops group that preceded ours by a few weeks had also come to Antojos, and their visit became a party.  Well, this is what our lunch looked like…
