Alley with Mirror

A window, really, but if we look at it from the right spot we see a nice sky reflection. Reminds me of Magritte’s False Mirror.

Palazzo Pitti. Florence in the distance

Santa Margherita de’ Cerchi, aka La Chiesa di Dante (Dante’s Church; Dante’s house is just up the street). One tradition holds that Dante met Beatrice Portinari, who became the love of his life, in front of this church. Strictly poetic—she wasn’t exactly available—but she was the inspiration for Beatrice, Dante’s guide through most of Paradise in the Divine Comedy. She is buried in this church. Ok, not everyone agrees, but that is the headstone of one Beatrice Portinari. The woman from The Divine Comedy. And this is one reason I like Florence so much.
